El Papaturro, El Salvador (winner of $500 impact prize in December 2016): The third prize was for an action plan to comprehensively raise awareness about the environment in El Papaturro, El Salvador, for a more sustainable community and way of life.

SDG #15: Life on Land

“Reforestando Uspantán,” Uspantán, Guatemala (winner of $500 impact prize in December 2016): This plan has conducted reforestation projects, planting xx amount of trees and working to prevent soil erosion. They also worked with youth to create a culture of environmental consciousness and sustainability that then promotes a vision of change and critical thinking about socio-environmental topics.
