I am truly inspired by other people…people who are out there dedicating themselves to making a difference. It is encouraging and challenges me to reassess the way I live and the choices I make.
I have been a legal advocate for prisoners, assisting refugees, advocating for the housing rights of Cambodians and the rights of those living in Vancouver’s downtown eastside neighbourhood. I am a lawyer and have obtained a Master’s in human rights and social justice in the hope of using the knowledge learned to pursue my passion for equality and justice.
I strongly feel that the work SERES does in the area of sustainability is so important, and increasingly so. Finding a way to help young Guatemalans take control of their lives through their environment, and seeing, through stories and videos the positive impact this is already having, is INSPIRING.
